Google Lets You Play The Biggest Video Game For Free And A Lousy PC Will Do

It’s been officially announced on Monday that the game “Assassin's Creed Odyssey”, one of the most worth-expecting games this year, will be available on Google’s well known browser - Chrome - for experimenting a new service named Project Stream.

This free trial will last until the end  of the test for the mentioned service, which is sometime in the middle of January.

As usual, the game will require players to have a video game console such as Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or a set of PC that is strong enough to handle the game. However, in this case, the game’s visuals will be streamed entirely. Along with that, the players will be able to input from a wider range of choices such as a controller or keyboard and mouse through the internet. This means, theoretically, you can log in to the game from any computer that you have regardless of how strong it is. You just need to install Google Chrome browser to your computer and you will certainly be ready for the game.

For those who didn’t get the chance to know what is the main theme of this version, here’s a brief summary for you: The “Assassin's Creed Odyssey” is the latest sequel of the famous blockbuster series in the gaming industry: “Assassin's Creed”. In this very sequel, you will become the protagonist of the game. As one of many titular assassins in ancient Greece, you will have to encounter as well as stop numerous evil schemes in many regions of the world.

However, the problem is that not everyone gets the chance to join this project. In order to do so, you need to sign up through the website of this project. It’s important that there is a limitation for the number of chosen people, furthermore, there is no guarantee that you will certainly be selected once you’ve signed up. Google will stream the game at a resolution of 1080p full-HD at 60fps, this is also one of the reasons why high speed internet connection is necessary. To the ones that are currently using Netflix, if your computer can stream 4k ultra-HD videos on Netflix without having any trouble, you’re good to go.

Or else, should your computer can stream videos well and fast, it’s enough. Although there are countless of requirements for the internet connection, Google didn’t mention particularly which kinds of computer are required. You can use either a Mac, a Windows computer or a Chromebook. As long as you have a good internet connection, a Google account, an account of the game’s publisher - Ubisoft, and the Chrome browser, you’re ready for the game.

This project of Google is not the first one ever made. Other companies are doing the same thing such as Nvidia, who is also starting a beta for its game streaming service GeForce Now, or Shadow, offering gamer the same of service which allow you to access to a high-end computer in the cloud.
