Apple Arcade subscribers will download games from the App Store then play them offline on their devices. So what hardware do you need?

Apple Arcade was just announced in September, at a monthly cost of $4.99 after a month of the free trial. The service offers over 100 games, all new and exclusive, without bothering you with ads or in-app purchases.

Unlike Google Stadia, Arcade subscribers will download games from the App Store then play them offline on their devices. And if you are not sure what devices you can use or need to enjoy this gaming service, check out the list below.

The iPhone 11

This phone’s battery lasts one hour longer than that of the iPhone XR, allowing you to play games more before having to recharge. Although Apple designed the Arcade as part of the iPhone 11 lineup, the service works with older models compatible with iOS 13. This means those who own an iPhone 6S and newer models can enjoy the gaming service.

The 7th-gen iPad

This device offers 10.2 inches on the screen so you have more space for gaming compared with the previous 9.7-inch models. Other iPad models that support Apple Arcade include the 5th and 6th-gen iPad, the 4th and 5th-gen iPad Mini, 2nd and 3rd-gen iPad Air, provided that they run on iPadOS.

The iPad Pro

This device offers even more space than the 7th-gen iPad, either 11 inches or 12.9 inches. All iPad Pro models will support Arcade.

MacBook Air

You can enjoy Apple Arcade on the 2019 and 2018 lineup of the MacBook Air, which have higher resolution. Besides, they offer better speakers, large touchpads, and True Tone technology, which all in all promises users a good gaming experience.

Apart from that, Apple makes the 2019 model completely from recycled aluminum, so you can both entertain and help reduce carbon in the environment.

MacBook Pro

With the 2019 model, the MacBook Pro has jumped from the dual-core Intel CPU to a quad-core one, which means you can benefit from smoother and faster gameplay.

iMac

You can choose between a 27-inch or 21.5-inch screen, both of which are great for gameplays, especially at 5K and 4K resolutions. The iMac comes with inputs for a mouse and a keyboard, perfect for gaming.

And now with macOS Catalina, you should be able to enjoy Apple Arcade on any Mac.

Apple TV

This product lets you play games on the largest display in your house, so you can have a fun time with your family in multiplayer games. It would be even better if you pair it with a Bluetooth controller. Many games will support Apple TV remote as well.

SteelSeries Nimbus Controller

This full-sized wireless controller is compatible with a lot of Apple devices such as the iPhone 11, iPhone SE, Apple TV, iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad, and iPad Pro.

Thanks to the familiar button arrangement, you will quickly get on with the games without troubles. And its battery can last for as long as 40 hours.

Xbox One S Controller

Apple Arcade supports wireless Xbox One S and PS4 controllers too. The Xbox One S controller offers various color options and designs, from plain white to ombré patterns and camouflage.

Moreover, the controller features a textured grip rear so your hands can comfortably move during gameplay, as well as doubles the wireless range for more freedom in movement.

PS4 DualShock 4 Controller

This product comes with all the features and settings expected in a classic PS controller but includes a touchpad on its face. With this new feature, players can combine the touchpad and the controller controls for Arcade games.

The DualShock 4 also offers lower latency than previous PS controllers.
