Amazon Echo Show 8 Launched In India At Rs 12,999

Amazon India offers a wide range of smart speakers in the country at multiple price points. The latest on its portfolio is the Echo Show 8.

The latest device belongs to the Amazon Echo Show lineup which features a larger display, a camera, providing more ways to enjoy the content. The number 8 in the name is for the 8-inch HD LCD screen. The smart speaker is introduced in September at a fall event of Amazon in the global market.

What the Echo Show 8 can do include allowing you to sing along with on-screen lyrics, watch shows, news briefs, sports highlights, movies, entertain children with nursery rhymes, and make hands-free calls. The 1MP camera is there to offer video calls via Skype, Alexa, or other Echo devices.

Amazon has numerous partners in the international market and in India, including Voot, Gaana, JioSaavn, Amazon Prime Video, Hungama Music, and Apple Music.

According to Amazon, the stereo speakers have been improved, along with other actions like setting alarms and timers, recipes, reminders, traffic updates, sports scores, weather, and creating lists.

Amazon ensures users that the priority of the Echo Show 8 is privacy and safety. Users can manually turn off the micro and the camera of the device. For extra privacy, there is a shutter in place to cover the camera when it is not in need. Voice records can also be deleted.

The Echo Show 8 will set you back Rs 12,999 and you can pre-order it right now. Shipping will start on the 26^th of February. There is a price cut for a limited time, reducing the cost of the smart speaker to Rs. 8,999.
