Zomato To Support Lockdown-Affected Restaurant Staff

As India is under a full lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19, Zomato has announced its plan to support restaurant staff impacted by the lockdown.

As India is under a full lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19, Zomato has announced its plan to support restaurant staff who is impacted by the lockdown. The initiative called “Zomato Gold Support Fund” will help cooks, servers, and housekeepers in need by using Zomato Gold subscriptions’ revenue in April.
With the lockdown in effective, only essentials which include medical supplies, groceries, and veggies are allowed for delivery. In some regions, both Zomato and Swiggy has restarted their delivery service. However, not all restaurants are having their operations at full capacity.

It is sure that the restaurant industry is one of the worst hit by the lockdown. And the food delivery giant wants to help restaurant workers with the help of users.
In an official blog post, the company said that Zomato was built to connect passionate restauranteurs with millions of customers. And in times like these, the company needed to step up and assist the ecosystem to get through this unprecedented time.
How Can You Make A Contribution To The Zomato Gold Support Fund?
If you want to make a contribution, the only thing you have to do is to purchase Zomato’s Zomato Gold subscription. And what’s better is that with this purchase, you will receive a two-year subscription while paying the price for a one-year one.
Open the Zomato app. And from the navigation bar, go to the “Gold” section. A banner will pop up which reads #SupportYourServer. Tap on the banner to extend your subscription or get a new one.
All revenue of April will be for this fund which will be distributed to restaurant staff.
