There hasn’t been any reason for customers to be afraid of food delivery guys. What they focus on is delivering the order to customers on time, then collect the money and leave. But with this incident, things might be different.
What comes as a strange incident when a Zomato delivery guy after dropping off an order walked away with a customer’s Beagle. The case happened in Pune. The couple losing their pet expressed their anger on their social media accounts.
The incident reportedly happened on October 7 around noon. Vandana Shah, the pet’s owner discovered that her dog called Dottu had disappeared from Karve Road.
CCTV footage shows that that last time the dog was seen, it was playing inside her house’s premises.
Several hours went by, Shah began looking for it around the neighborhood and learned from a local eatery that it was a delivery man who took the dog.
The couple rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint against the pet kidnapper.
Vandana also got a picture of the man with her dog. It turned out that the guy was a delivery guy working for Zomato called Tushar. She said that she had reached him via his contact number to ask him about Dottu. The delivery guy had admitted picking up the dog. But when Vandana asked him to bring the dog back, he started giving her excuses.
She added that she had also offered the guy money in exchange for the return of their dog. However, the guy had kept on giving excuses and had switched off his phone.
Vandana then reached out to the customer care service of Zomato, who assured her that the situation was “unacceptable.”
She then decided to uninstall the Zomato app and is still waiting for her pet being returned.
