To prevent depopulation, a small Sicilian town in Italy is offering its abandoned houses at an incredibly low price. You even have to pay more money to buy a cup of coffee.

In the last few years, several small Italian towns have been having to deal with depopulation. So they have been welcoming people to come and buy houses by offering them at ridiculously low prices.

Because of depopulation, properties in this town are being sold at 1 Euro (Rs 86). Reports say that it was already difficult for locals to sell these properties. And now, things aren’t getting any better because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the Belice Valley earthquake occurring in 1968, more than 4,000 residents left the town. Domenico Venuti, the mayor of the town said that the city council already launched a recovering project to recover some old parts of the town, upgrading services and infrastructures from electric grids to roads and sewage pipes.
