When Protection Meets Fashion, Bikini With Matching Face Mask Is The New Thing

With the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, a face mask has proved its importance. Many manufacturers have come up with non-basic and out of ordinary face masks. So whenever you are outside of your house during a lockdown, you are protected but also look fashionable at the same time.

And among those “out of the box” mask-making ideas, this Trikini idea from an Italian designer really catches the eyes.

You might ask what is a trikini? It is just a bikini that comes with a matching face mask. So, when you get this set of bikini, you will receive a face mask with the same pattern as a part of the set.

But the interesting thing about this now successful and famous design is that it was originally created as a joke.

Tiziana Scaramuzzo, Elexa Beachwear’s owner, began making this “pandemic-proof” set of beachwear to lift the spirit when being trapped inside the house. This was after the announcement of the Italian government that people wouldn't be allowed to leave their houses due to the pandemic.

Scaramuzzo was told by her suppliers that they had to shut down their factories, leading to she couldn’t produce bikinis for summer, the peak season. And this hit the business hard.

Despite this, she began making these unique trikini sets at home. Once everything was done, she posted the pictures of the bikini and the masks with her daughters as the models on social media. After that, the Trikini became viral. The orders are coming in like crazy.

And to make things better, Italy began to ease lockdown restrictions, which means people can wear these Trikinis to public places like beaches and parks.
