As a matter of fact, the more time people used the app, the more they felt closer to others.

Nowadays, most of us spend their time surfing the web or connecting with others and it is likely considered as bad. However, the researchers have shown that it's actually good for your well-being. According to a recent study that researches the relation between online chat systems and psychosocial outcomes, some messaging apps featuring group chat functions like WhatsApp have positively affected on our psychological health.

A total of 200 people around 24yrs were chosen to complete this survey.

The study was an associating work between Dr. Linda Kaye from Edge Hill University and Dr. Sally Quiin from the University of York. It was posted in the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction in order to explore how WhatsApp has a positive impact on the mental health of users. By using an online survey to measure data from WhatsApp, including online motivations, connections, quality of relationships, group identity, and psychosocial outcomes. A total of 200 people comprising of both men and women around 24yrs were chosen to complete this questionnaire.
