Volvo's Polestar 2 All-Electric Car Launching In 2020 To Rival With Tesla Model 3

Recently, Volvo has confirmed its market expansion into all-electric cars as they released the first image of the Polestar 2 model, which is said to be the rival of Tesla Model 3.

Great performance of Volvo's Polestar 1 has shown that the Swedish automaker has succeeded in bringing hybrid technology into cars. The car was expected to be a solid stepping stone for the company's plan to make all-electric vehicles (EVs). But it seems like Volvo is devoted to its plan as they has just released the Polestar 2 sedan's first image.

What is more interesting about this car is that it will become a direct rival to Tesla Model 3. Currently, Tesla Model 3 offers users an extremely affordable price with decent performance. Volvo has recently pointed to Tesla Model 3 as the car they aim to beat when launching Polestar 2.

Volvo has already revealed some of Polestar's information and specifications. The company's first all-electric car will be able to run 482 kms (300 miles) with a capacity of 400 HP. Polestar 2 is announced to be a 4-door design.

Thomas Ingenlath, Volvo's chief executive, said that Polestar 2 will be a low-volume vehicle with the price of about $49,300 (Rs 34.4 lakh). It will be officially put into production in 2020. In the coming weeks, the company will unveil the Polestar 2.

Regarding technology, this model of Volvo aims to beat its Tesla rival. Google Android HMI and in-car Google Assistant will be launched alongside Polestar 2 for the first time ever.

Directly mentioning a product from another manufacturer as your competitor is not that common in the automobile field. Instead, it is a mostly followed practice in the technology market. But to choose an EV as your rival, Tesla Model 3 might be the best option at the moment.

When the Polestar2 makes it debut on the global markets after the Polestar 1 which is said to be in production this year, the price of the car will be in the price range of the Tesla Model 3.

People are looking forward to the arrival of Polestar 2 to see the battle between famous car manufacturers in the EV market. Will Tesla have enough time to research and develop AutoPilot or other interesting features to put in Tesla Model 3 before the Polestar 2 hits the market?
