A Truck Driver Suffered From A Rs 1.41 Lakh Fine For Overloading Under Motor Vehicles Act

The amendment of the Motor Vehicles Act may make many traffic participants shocked, and the truck driver in the following incident is a typical example.
On September 05, a man from Rajasthan must pay a Rs 1.41 lakh fine because his truck carried the goods over the maximum permissible load. Of course, he then had to go to Rohini court, New Delhi to pay this amount four days later.
The name of the unlucky truck driver was reportedly Bhagwan Ram. According to the updated Motor Vehicles Act, he became the first one that has to pay a huge amount for violating traffic rules.

In early September, another truck driver from Sambalpur district, Odisha was fined up to Rs 86,500 for traffic violations. His name is Ashok Jadav. The fine he had to pay might be the highest one until the incident of Bhagwan Ram took place.
His penalties included letting an unauthorized driver to drive (Rs 5,000), lacking a driving license (Rs 5,000), carrying loads over 18 tonnes (Rs 56,000), carrying projections larger than the allowable dimension (Rs 20,000), as well as general offense (Rs 500).
However, after providing some documents, the driver just had to pay a Rs 70,000 fine.
