PUBG has a bad reputation, taking lives not only in India but also around the world. And now, PUBG has done it again, claiming another life in Bhopal.
20-year-old Saurabh Yadav from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh was traveling to Agra on the Swarna Jayanti Express with his friend. When they were on the train, he was trying to kill time by playing PUBG with his phone.
After playing for a while, apparently, Yadav became thirsty and reached inside his friend’s bag for a bottle of water. Not looking at what was inside the bottle, he opened it and gulped down the liquid. Shortly after that, he felt his insides burning. When he looked over to the bottle, he discovered that the liquid inside was acid instead of water.
Panicking, they tried to get medical attention. At that time, the train was at full speed and it didn’t stop at the next station. Thus Saurabh didn’t receive the necessary medical attention. When the train reached Agra, he had already died.
Sharma, Saurabh’s friend, was then taken into custody and asked about the reason he had an acid bottle with him. He explained that his job is a jeweler. So he needs acid for silverware cleaning. On the other hand, Saurabh’s family is accusing Sharma of intentionally killing Saurabh.
Just a few months ago, a similar case happened in Chhindwara. Another youth reportedly did the same while he was playing PUBG at his house. The only difference between the two cases is that the guy from Chhindwara was lucky enough to receive medical attention and survive.
In such cases, people would put all the blame on PUBG. They would say that if the game had been banned, none of these would have happened.
However, another thing they need to consider is the players themselves. Players need to also care about their surroundings instead of just solely looking at their screens. Risking your life to save that of the digital one is not really a smart thing to do.
