If you think the following video is the result of animation or visual effects, it’s not your fault. The magic here, however, is only magnets and the use of miniaturized robotics. The Rubik’s Cube in this video is real and it can solve itself completely while it’s floating in the air.

The ‘Human Controller’s’ creation was first spotted around a year ago, starting life as a Rubik’s Cube puzzle on sale which got upgraded with wiring, electronics, servos, as well as batteries. As a result, it’s able to spin any multi-colored side without any intervention from a human. In addition, it can solve itself automatically once it’s scrambled; however, in real life, that trick didn’t require much logic.
Typically, a human has to solve the puzzle manually, so the electronics inside the Rubik’s Cube recorded all the twists and turns, then recreated them in reverse to solve itself.
It seems that the self-solving Cube didn’t get any further improvements, so it could still be defeated by humans and the world’s fastest robotic solvers. However, by using some magnets that are placed strategically inside the Cube, it doesn’t need any humans to grasp a corner as it solves itself.
Now, the Rubik’s Cube floats in mid-air as if in an illusion created by a magician, but it’s even more captivating as you now know the way it works.
