In a competitive market like Japan, accommodations business always try to differentiate themselves from other rivals to be more attractive to customers. In an attempt to appeal more visitors, a Japanese hotel has created an impressive Boeing 737-800 flight simulator in one of its rooms. The hotel's name is Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu and it also links to Haneda International Airport.
According to the hotel’s website, this project was made to celebrate its 15th Anniversary, and the room is called “Superior cockpit room”.
When coming to Haneda Excel, visitors have two choices for experiencing the brand-new service.
The first one is Flight Simulator Experience plan. Paying for that “trip” means tourists are allowed to engage in a simulated flight traveling from Haneda Airport to Itami Airport. They can experience the maneuvering of an aircraft under the guidance of an instructor who is familiar with the equipment. The pilot experience is real, and the scenery is also displayed for the most authentic feelings. The cost for this plan stands at 30,000 yen, an equivalent to $277 or Rs. 19,787 for 90 minutes “flying”.
Another choice for aviation enthusiasts is Flight Simulator Atmosphere plan or Accommodation plan. Unlike the one above, visitors who opt for this plan can neither sit on the seat of the simulator nor touch the instruments. Instead, they can stay in the room which presents flowing scenery of a flight and the entire cockpit over the acrylic board, including a twin bedroom. The fee for Flight Simulator Atmosphere is a bit cheaper, charging visitors 25,300 yen for one night staying, equivalent to $234 and Rs. 16,715.
“Superior Cockpit Room” was available starting on July 18. Check-in time is 18:00 and check-out time is 10:00 at local time.
