Having to pay only $1 per night at a hotel can be a bargain almost anywhere around the world, especially in a tourism country like Japan. However, the huge discount also comes with a condition. And for those who prioritize their privacy, it is a big one.
Tourists who visit Fukuoka city in Japan on a budget can go to Business Ryokan Asahi inn to grab a big deal. The inn is located around 15 minutes walk from the entertainment and shopping area of the city. One night at the inn only costs you 130 yen or Rs 71.78. So basically, anyone can pay for such amount of money to have a room for one night. But that only happens if they don’t mind having their privacy invaded. The reason is that in order to have this great deal, you have to allow your whole stay to be live-streamed on the inn’s YouTube channel.

This bizarre deal is available daily, even when it is holiday season or weekend. And anyone can take part in including vloggers and influencers who would probably agree to pay higher money to share with their fans their experience or people who just want a cheap accommodation.
In contrast to how it sounds, it is actually not that bad. Although the camera covers the entire place, a microphone is not equipped. The lack of audio is to avoid copyright infringement that could be heard playing from the TV inside the room, but also to make sure that no one can hear what you are talking, snoring, or making any other embarrassing sounds.
SoraNews24 staff have decided to spend a night in this inn and finally got to learn the reason behind this deal. Apparently, at the inn, not many people book room no.8. So to convince guests to book this room, the staff at the inn came up with this idea. Rs 71.78 for one night doesn’t seem like a lot of money, but the exposure is worth it since it is better to have it occupied rather than unoccupied.
So, if you ever visit Fukuoka and are in need of a cheap place to stay, there won’t be any other cheaper lace than Business Ryokan Asahi’s no.8. Just keep in mind the privacy issue.
