This 70-year-old Grandpa Is A Professional Pokémon Go Playing Machine

Taiwanese Chen San-yuan has spent much money to get himself a Pokémon Go playing system, including many phones and a huge battery pack.

Chen San-yuan is a 70-year-old grandfather and a Pokémon Go player from Taiwan, and he is probably nothing like other players.

In August, San-yuan earned his own spotlight when Taiwanese saw him riding his bike on the street, with as many as 11 smartphones attached to his rig. According to a post on Twitter, he has obviously improved his system to a waist-mounted one, and hence, the bike is gone.

As reported by a local news outlet, the Pokémon Go grandpa spends a monthly amount of over $1,000 to satisfy his passion for the game. Snorlax is the Pokémon he likes best; plus, he does not favor assaulting gyms since he thinks that makes other players feel bad. In the news video, the elderly trainer has a huge powerpack in a bag for constantly charging the phones so that he does not have to worry about phones’ batteries running out and better focus on detecting elusive and rare Pokémon.

It is likely that no matter how passionate you are about the game, you can never be as good and professional as grandpa San-yuan, unless you have that much money to spend on smartphones and all free time of the world.

Pokémon Go, supported on iOS and Android operating systems, is an augmented reality mobile game developed by Niantic. The game was first introduced in some countries in July 2016 and in other nations in the next few months. The game was created in a collaboration between Nintendo and Niantic, via The Pokémon Company. In Pokémon Go, players locate with GPS, capture, fight and train Pokémon - the virtual creatures. Despite mixed opinions including both applause and criticism, Pokémon Go app was the most used and earned the most profit in 2016, it experienced over 500 million download times just in the year it was released.
