For years, video games have come in tow with a lot of bad stereotypes. However, the few other cases do not present the same perspective.

Recently, Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf, a boy from Pennsylvania in the USA, has been rewarded a total of $3 million worth of prize money. The rewards came after he won the top place in the Solos category at the first Fortnite World Cup. He won the prize by taking the top position with 59 points, while the second-place player had only 33 points when all rounds are ended up. At the time, Giersdorf is a player of a professional e-sports team called Sentinels.

The number of $3 million is considered as the largest amount of prize that has been ever handed out in the history of e-sport tournaments. Talking about his own achievement, Giersdorf claimed that it was insane, as reported by news.com.au.

As per the Sentinels’ team management, all contacts on behalf of Giersdorf including his phone and social media accounts were “compromised” after taking the first prize in the tournament.

The event had taken place in New York, which included three tournaments: Solos, Duos, and Pro-Am. Note that it was the first time Gierseldorf attended such a big tournament. The cultural phenomenon has taken the world by storm. In March, the number of player base reportedly reached over 250 million across the globe.
