The Bombay High Court last week requested that the BMC has to build up an application providing information about fire safety compliance of all restaurants in the city. As indicated by a senior civic official, the app is currently in the planning step.
Based on Bombay high court's recent indicative, the Mumbai Fire Brigade is building up an application on the mobile phone that will notify the Mumbai residents about the fire safety compliance of restaurant they choose to have dinner with friends and family.

Since the fire occurred last December in Kamala Mills, the HC has enacted the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the BMC, to be more strict with eateries on the issue of fire safety-compliant. The court additionally requested that the BMC has to build up an application showing data about flame security consistency of all restaurants in the city.
The application is now in the planning period. One of the alternatives is to appoint a quick response code, or QR code, to each restaurant. The brigade's database will connect to the unique QR code of each restaurant. After that, it would be required for restaurant proprietors to show the code outside their property. Clients who have the fire brigade’s application on their mobile phone will have the capacity to scan the QR code to get a notification of the restaurant's record, including the notices issued by the fire brigade for non-contestation and the previous contestation was available for the restaurant.
