In a bid to maintain operation while reducing gathering amid COVID-19 outbreak in India, the Telangana High Court created virtual courtrooms in its complexes so that it can continue hearing urgent cases.
These virtual courtrooms will go into operation starting Monday, March 23.

The High Court said that this move was to lower the number of people gathering in the court. It has also advised people not to come to the complexes unless they have unavoidable and urgent matters.
On March 16, the court has issued a guideline on how vital matters will be handled and how pending cases will be processed.
While India has had the Janata Curfew on March 22, the Telangana government decided to prolong the time to 24 hours, starting 6 A.M, March 22.

Shopping malls have been ordered to shut down. Transport services, including local trains, Metro trains, and Road Transport Corporation buses will be confined to stations and depots.
However, essential services like vegetable and milk vendors or medical shops are allowed to operate.
As of Saturday, the number of COVID-19 cases in the state is 21. According to the Chief Minister, Telangana is considering closing the border with Maharashtra.
He said that if the situation required, it would close borders with all other states. 52 check posts would be set up along the border to screen people who wish to enter.
Telangana even goes as far as announcing that it would not hesitate to shut the whole state down. COVID-19 outbreak is an unprecedented crisis and it would spend as much effort as needed to tackle it.
