After China has successfully controlled the spread of COVID-19, other countries are looking for help. But you know that people are not really convinced by the “made in China” stuff? Well, it turns out this assumption is also applied to the COVID-19 testing kits that this country makes.
After detecting that the accuracy rate of the COVID-19 testing kits that Spain acquired from a Chinese manufacturer was only 30%, the government has decided to withdraw 9,000 kits.

At the moment, the death rate of Spain is only after Italy which has the highest death rate.
The health ministry of the country announced that these kits would be returned to their manufacturer. However, these kits were not directly acquired from the Chinese manufacturer. Rather, they were from a supply company based in Spain that had bought them in China. The company had provided all the necessary accompanying paperwork.
In its defense, the Chinese embassy said that the items were from Shenzhen Bioeasy Biotechnology, an unlicensed company. This company isn’t in the country’s list of authorized vendors.

The Czech Republic also reported having acquired faulty COVID-19 kits. A report suggested that among 150,000 portable, quick test kits the country received from China, 80% didn’t deliver the correct results. The kits were able to come out after 10 to 15 minutes but they are inaccurate. So the country has to rely on lab tests instead.
