Sentry Mode On Tesla Car Helps The Cop To Arrest A Suspected Car Thief

Tesla cars have recently attracted a lot of attention from the whole world, and of course, including auto criminals.

At the beginning of 2019, Tesla just introduced a new security feature called Sentry Mode for its electric vehicles (EVs). Designed with a 360-degree dash cam, the feature helps to record any possible break-in as well as damage towards the car.

Model X Sentry Mode Activated

Sentry Mode came to the public in February 2019 and in recent days, it has proven its efficiency for the first time. The ABC 7 News reported that Tesla’s new feature has helped cops to arrest a suspect auto thief.

Jed Franklin from San Francisco got an alert on his application pointing out that the Sentry Mode feature had been enabled. When Franklin arrived at his Tesla car, he realized that someone had broken its window, but in the end, the bad guy left with empty hands. According to Franklin,

After that, Franklin downloaded the video that was recorded by Tesla’s new feature. In the video, the suspected thief’s face was shown clearly, along with his plate number. The man in San Francisco submitted it to the cop.

The suspect’s name was Jeremiah Jefferson, 21 years old. According to Adam Lobsinger who was one of the Public Information Officers in San Francisco Police,
