See What Snapchat CEO Does To Protect His Son From His Own App

The Snapchat CEO allows Flynn to spend only 90 minutes per week on watching what he wants on smartphones.

The Snapchat app developed by the CEO Evan Spiegel is a culprit that takes the young a lot of hours per day to surf the hottest news. However, it seems not to be right for the CEO’s child. Similar to other parents, the billionaire under the age of 28 always takes care of his child in many ways, including controlling how much time he spends on entertainment on phones or computers.

On May 2017, Spiegel got married to Miranda Kerr, an Australian supermodel and has become a stepfather of Flynn, a 7-year-old son of Kerr and her ex-husband Orlando Bloom. US media revealed that Spiegel has set a strict rule concerning Flynn’s screentime amount.

The Snapchat CEO allows Flynn to spend only 90 minutes per week on watching what he wants on smartphones, computers or televisions. The amount of his entertainment on these high technologies is apparently rather low compared to that spent by other children all over the world.

Evan Spiegel is not the only celebrity in the tech universe, who requires his children to comply with such a strict rule. Another example is Steve Jobs, the Co-founder of Apple. He was said to prohibit his children from looking for funs on their iPads at home.

Bill Gates also banned his children from owning smartphones before they reached 14. Besides, using smartphones at the dinner table and around bedtime are unacceptable.

Such this rule, of course, has its own benefits. According to research, when users spend too much time on social media, they can face a kind of symptom called early childhood depression. Moreover, some various researchers have stated that the thing harmful for children isn’t entirely time on screen, and if we teach them how to manage it rationally, it will be ok.

Along with the above issue, a lot of tech giants including Apple, Facebook, and Google have paid much more attention to dangerous addiction on smartphones, and therefore, a string of apps are developed to track users’ screen time.

Citing from many sources, some Indian couples have had troubles in their relationship because his/her spouse is addicted to smartphones. Also, those who spend much time on the Internet on high speed tend to face the sleeping difficulties over others.

What the Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel limits his son may be easy-to-understand; at least, he is protecting Flynn’s eyes from harming due to the smartphone screen.
