Last week, Russia became the world’s first country to approve of a COVID-19 vaccine despite the skepticism from scientists and researchers around the world. The country has now released a video of how its Sputnik V vaccine would end the pandemic.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund created a 38-second promotional video that shows how the vaccine emerges, slowly eradicating the coronavirus from the world, which has infected 21.6 million people with 774,000 deaths. In another video, you can watch how the vaccine is produced, according to Sputnik News.
Last week, Vladimir Putin claimed that Sputnik V, developed by the Gamaleya Institute and the Defence Ministry, was quite effective and generated stable immunity against COVID-19.
Phase III trials
The Tass news agency reported that Sputnik V will enter phase III trials in 7 to 10 days, during which it will be injected into thousands of people. The trials will take place in the Moscow Region. Gamaleya National Research Center’s Director Alexander Ginstburg said:
“On August 17, we will present the first version of the protocol on post-registration research. Given this great interest and attention of the public and the press, I think that the Health Ministry won’t delay the process and will approve the protocol within a week.”
The Phase-I and phase-II trials of this vaccine happened so fast that the entire process was finished in less than 2months. And the government granted the approval before conducting Phase-III trials.

Gamaleya head accuses Western research institutions of luring scientists away
In sensational claims, Gintsburg said that Western institutes were attempting to get the scientists of the Gamaleya National Research Center to work for them.
“Our researchers have been working at the Gamaleya Institute for ten years…Any American or European university can only dream of having such researchers. And they are seeking to lure them away. But they won’t be able to.”
The remarks surface as Western health officials are doubting the safety and efficacy of the Sputnik V due to the lack of transparency in showing human clinical trial results.

Russian medics are not willing to take Sputnik V
Russia plans to give the first batch of the vaccine to health professionals, but a survey found that 52% of them aren’t ready to get vaccinated. The survey was conducted online by the RBC news, saying that over half of Russian medics will not take Sputnik V.
Out of these medics, 66% mentioned insufficient data to prove its effectiveness and 48% said the vaccine was developed too quickly. According to the Moscow Times, only 24.5% of Russian medics are ready to get the vaccine.
