And last week, it was revealed that the monkeys injected with the test vaccine from the Oxford group haven’t contracted with SARS-CoV-2, the virus behind COVID-19, after 28 days.

In an interview with NBC News, Sir John Bell, Oxford University’s Regius Professor of Medicine, said that the results for the human trials of the vaccine could come out by June this year.

He stated that from phase two of the trials, by next month, the researchers would collect enough data to have a concrete basis for the vaccine’s efficacy.

And in his opinion, the vaccine could have a very high chance of success. In his interview, Bell also emphasized the differences between COVID-19 and normal flu.

According to Professor Sarah Gilbert, the “ChAdOx1” vaccine can potentially fight the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

He also revealed that the Oxford team is making sure that safety is the first priority when fast-tracking the vaccine.

According to Professor Sarah Gilbert, the “ChAdOx1” vaccine can potentially fight the SARS-CoV-2 virus. She had previously mentioned that she was 80% confident about the success of the vaccine.
