PS5 event

The event, which was livestreamed on YouTube gave the world the first official look at the next-generation console. During the event, Sony showed off a mix of game and hardware trailers that will come to PS5.

With the next generation of PlayStation, the company took a stylish approach instead of the traditional carbon black color theme as the PS4. The look may have caught many off their guard at first, but a change in aesthetic is not bad.

There are two versions of the PS5 console, a standard version with the disc drive and a digital version. The company didn’t reveal PS5 price at the event but the digital version may be a bit cheaper due to the absence of the Blu-ray drive.

In addition, the firm revealed the new DualSense controller (PS5 controller), providing insight into some new features implemented in the DualShock 4 controller replacement. It also comes with an inbuilt microphone, haptic feedback, and a more ergonomic design, making it closer to winning the battle of controllers for the next-gen console.

Towards the end of the event, Sony revealed the whole family of PlayStation 5 hardware and accessories, including a DualSense charging station, as well as a wireless headset.

According to Sony, the PS5 release date will likely fall in the holiday season of 2020, from October to December.

Since the reveal event, there has been more news circulating around the next-generation gaming console.

According to analysts, the PlayStation 5 is predicted to cost $499, equivalent to Rs 37,492. It’s also predicted that consumers can start to pre-order the console this or next month.

On July 9, Sony revealed the look of PS5 game boxes, using Spider-Man: Miles Morales as an example. While the game boxes will feature the color blue like PS4 games, they will have a darker shade of blue. Besides, the top of the game label will be black and white, which matches the colors of the PlayStation 5 hardware family. It goes without saying that you should only buy these physical game boxes if you buy the 4K Blu-ray version of the console.
