Last weekend, people living in Vancouver, Canada had a chance to observe some ill-informed conspiracy theorists going down to the streets to claim that the COVID-19 outbreak is nothing more than fake news.

This move was considered as a representation of rebellion as well as indifference to public health and social distancing rules imposed by the local authority. 

According to Global News, Adrian Dix - the health minister of BC - expressed his deep disappointment towards those bad behaviors. 

Breaking the quarantine orders

Some of the videos capturing a myriad of protesters’ standing six feet apart from each other on the streets with signs attracted millions of views. Especially, a woman in her seventies was reported to have helped organize that event, despite the medical warning against the seniors’ high risk of dying from the virus. 

It is not surprising that conspiracy theorists always consider this fatal disease as a massive trick.

Fortunately, a health officer has confirmed that the demonstration involved a small number of people. 

She also added that those who partook the protest just wanted to be well-known, but they had chosen the wrong way because the vast majority were following the rules. 

In reply to some messages that seemed a little bit blunt, Hollywood A-lister Seth Rogen and Vancouver residents just retweeted a conspiracy video and added a caption that said: “Stay inside”.
