The police department in Connecticut is collaborating with Draganfly - a big name among drone manufacturers - to test their "pandemic drones" which are used for monitoring people’s compliance with social distancing rules at the time of COVID-19 outbreak.

Those drones’ capabilities are widely advertised on media. They are equipped with a specialized sensor and computer vision systems that allow users to see the temperature as well as heart and respiratory rates. It's also able to detect people sneezing or coughing in public places, and wherever people can get around to work as well.
Notably, "pandemic drones" even can spot the symptoms from a very long distance. In particular, it can not only exactly perform the task from a distance of 190 feet but also measure social distancing that needed for public safety.
The test is publicized after China and Spain both applied loudspeaker-installed drones in humiliating those who intentionally try to break quarantine.

Proudly said to the press, CEO of Draganfly Cameron Chell claimed that they were the pioneer in the implementation of data analyzing technology in saving thousands of lives.
The idea that motivated them to develop this device is to save direct responders and officers from a high level of infectious risks of the public.
Talking about this news, Westport Chief of Police Foti Koskinas claimed that all of them, including first responders, are attempting to find the best solution to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus as well as guarantee the communities’ safety.
Therefore, they believed these "pandemic drones", as known as the representative of the go-to technology, would both address public concern about safety and the lack of manpower needed to control remote areas.
