With 15 monkeys died in just two days, people of the Sambhal district in Uttar Pradesh fear that they may have caught the novel Co.ro.na.virus.
While there has not been any concluded answer from the authority, veterinary doctors think that they may die of pneumonia.
As stated by the IVRI sources, the monkeys show signs of kidney and liver infection, which experts attribute to the consumption of insecticide-infected water.

Prakash Neer, a veterinarian said the animals’ lungs were swollen and they might have had a fever, so he suspected the monkeys have been poisoned.
The local residents think otherwise. With the Co.ro.na.vi.rus wreaking havoc in India, they fear the primates may die of the novel CO.VID-19 pandemic.
With the U.S confirmed a case of a tiger got the Co.ro.na.vi.rus from a caretaker, people have reason to believe that animals can get the virus too. The feline at the Bronx Zoo in New York is also the first animal on the planet to test positive for the Coronavirus.
Nadia, the said tiger, along with three African lions and three other tigers, all live in captivity at the Bronx Zoo. However, all of the felines are expected to recover soon.
This piece of news has since caused zoos all around the world to be more alerted to make sure that the animals are not affected by the virus. Karnataka zoos have taken steps to protect the animals living under their care.
As stated by Warden Sanjay, Chief Wildlife, they were not using masks but since Nadia the tiger was confirmed to have the Coronavirus, they had strictly use masks inside the zoo.
He said in a controlled environment like the zoo, it was easier to implement precautions. But the same could not be said about the wildlife parks and sanctuaries.
