Earlier this year, MG announced that their electric vehicle MG eZS will be launched in India. Now, it seems like everything is all set and the company has found a place in the country to finally produce the awaited EV.

Right after its initial launch in India - the MG Hector, the British-based automaker announced that their eZS will launch in this December. At first, they said that the 250 debut products will be imported as CBUs (Complete Build-up Units).
And now MG has confirmed their plan to produce the following units in India, particularly in Gujarat, for global exports. This was confirmed in a video of MG showcasing their electric vehicle eZS prototype being manufactured in a Halol facility on June 5 - World day for the environment.
As said by Rajeev Chaba, MG Motor India's president and MD:

Also according to the British-based automaker, 2,200 crores INR was invested to build the Halol factory, many other facilities including press shop, a distribution center for manufacturing parts, training area, assembly lines, body shop, and testing track for the car.

MG Motor eZS will be a compact-sized electric SUV that claims it has a more than 300-kilometer range, similar to the predicted rival Hyundai Kona Electric.
While being manufactured locally, the eZS electric vehicles from MG Motor India are expected to be bought with a more competitive price tag. The productions will go under the governmental incentives FAME-II Scheme and reduced import duties which promote electric vehicles.
