With #BoycottChinaProducts becomes trending on Twitter, Indians are finding way to know which products are made in China and which were not. This is too good an opportunity to miss for a Noida-based app developer, who launch an app which he claims can help people spot products originated from China.

Please bear in mind that there is a distinction between originated and manufactured in China.

You can find and download “Made in India” app from Google Play Store. When you scan or type in the barcode of any product, it will tell you where it originated. All you have to do is to allow it access to your camera.

However, please note that “Made in India” app cannot tell you where the product is manufactured, all it can do is provide information on where it is originated.

To make this a little bit clearer, here is an example.

When we scanned the bar code of a Samsung Galaxy S20+, the app tells us the phone originated from South Korea. For those who don’t know, Samsung is a South Korean company.

However, when you check on the box, you will see that the handset is manufactured in Vietnam, Thai Nguyen province to be precise.

Made in India app only provides information, it doesn’t do anything too aggressive like removing apps from your phone like what Remove China Apps did. This is why it is highly unlikely the app will be banned from Google Play Store.
