Lawyer Cosplays As Grim Reaper To Protest To Protest Beaches’ Reopening

Last week, a number of beaches in Florida, USA was simultaneously opened to welcome guests again, despite the complicated situation of COVID-19. To raise the awareness of the people visiting the beaches, warn about the risks they may face for ignoring the COVID-19 situation and protest the reopening of these beaches, lawyer Daniel Uhfelder has cosplayed himself as a “Grim Reaper.”

Daniel has gathered the attention of Twitter users after he appeared in TV news with his bizarre outfit on Miramar Beach. Instead of wearing comfy clothes, he put on a black cloak that covered his entire face. He even carried with him a scythe while casually answering interview questions.

Daniel said that he wanted to protest the reopening of these beaches. With so many people in one place, the virus can be transmitted easily, thus affecting the whole society’s recovering situation.

This isn’t the first time Daniel did something like this to raise awareness of the people about preventing the spread of the virus. In fact, he carried out a whole series of events called “Grim Reaper Beach Tour,” with trips to beaches around Florida to warn people about the danger of COVID-19.

And of course, for every trip, he transformed himself into a Grim Reaper to convey a message of how deadly the pandemic is. In addition, this is also a campaign to help Daniel raise funds to support Democratic candidates in the race to Congress this year.

At the moment, Florida has had around 1,000 COVID-19 deaths and there is nothing to guarantee that this number won’t stop increasing. That is why Daniel truly hopes that people can continue to practice social distancing and avoid going to public places. He even filed a lawsuit against Governor Ron DeSantis for allowing the reopening of these beaches.

With more beaches opened next week, it seems like Daniel will have to continue his “Grim Reaper” tour.

The COVID-19 outbreak which originated from Wuhan, China has affected over 5 million people around the world and killed more than 300,000.
