Indian Solar Technology Can Meet Thermal Needs With Zero Emissions

An Indian company has patented its solar technology for generating heat to meet industries' thermal need without emissions at a low cost.

Currently, India ranks third in the list of the world's most polluted countries. Emissions from vehicles and industry have contributed to worsening the country's pollution situation to a high level of severity. Indians all know how polluted the atmosphere around them is, and everyone is trying every solution they have to fix this incident.

A solar thermal company called Lanasol Energy Solutions Private Limited is providing a solution with a solar power system that minimizes emissions and costs. The company was founded by Bharath Srivathsa in 2014, focusing on solar electric energy systems to replace the industries which are using fossil fuels to serve thermal needs. Lanasol's solar system gives industrial companies a better choice with lower costs and no harm to the environment.

Parabolic Trough Collector (PTC)

A patent was granted to Lanasol on the system for producing electrical energy through solar energy absorption using the Parabolic Trough Collector (PTC). This is a tool produced by Lanasol Energy Solutions Private Limited itself. Through PTC, the sun rays are gathered, producing a higher amount of heat than usual. It has been successfully tested in Bengaluru and the results show that it does not bring any waste to the environment. At the same time, it brings high efficiency and very low cost to industries.

Lanasol founder, Bharath Srivathsa, said 57% of the thermal needs in India is from the industry itself. He took a dairy farm for example, every day it used 250kg of firewood for each of their centers. This is where they use up to 6 collectors. And typical cases such as pharmaceutical, sugar, textile, and paper industries, burning fuel to produce steam.

According to Srivathsa, this is not a new technology in the world, but in the past, if India wants to use it must be imported from Germany or China. Lanasol gives the Indian industry an effective solution and saves a lot of costs. Therefore, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has formally approved and patented this solar energy system. Corporations and companies in this industry will be greatly reduced costs up to 30%.
