Junior Male Student Used 25 Fake Accounts To Stalk A Female Anchor On Social Media

A 24-year-old Science student was arrested for stalking and harassing a female news anchor on social media.

Gulshan Kashyap, a junior student in Noida, sector 27, recently caused some panics as he stalked a female anchor on social media using multiple fake accounts.
According to reports, Kashyap is 24 years old, who is attending Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana, majoring in Science.
The police arrested this young man for stalking the news anchor on social media as well as writing offensive comments on her profile. The cyber police tracked down the accounts and IP addresses used on social media to aim at the victim to identify Kashyap.
Later, the anchor submitted a complaint accusing the cyberbully of texting her and harassing her since January, said Manoj Pant, station house officer of Sector 20 police station. As recalled by Pant, January 12 is the day when the female victim first got Twitter messages from Kashyap, they argued heatedly, and she blocked him after that.
The accused did not give up, messaging her that he loved her and that he wanted to marry her. The female anchor turned him down. Then, Kashyap came to her workplace many times, trying to meet her; yet security guards stopped him.
Replying to reporters, 24-year-old Kashyap said that his Twitter account was blocked by the anchor after their argument over the release of Padmaavat movie. He admitted that following the incident, he created another 15 fake Facebook accounts, 10 Instagram accounts and continued sending her messages on Twitter. Even worse, he tried to contact her with a friend’s account.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Gulshan Kashyap. Accordingly, the FIR accused him of violating the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including section 354 which refers to assault or criminal force to woman with the aim at outraging her modesty and section 507 that mentions criminal threatening actions using anonymous communication. Also, the FIR alleged Kashyap of violating the IT Act, Section 66 in particular.
