With the rapid spread of the COVID-19 outbreak around the world, Indian has entered a 21-day lockdown.

On March 3, 28, Metro reported that in an effort to warn people to stay inside, an artist and a police officer in Chennai, Tamil Nadu worked together to raise awareness about the severity of COVID-19.

The partnership has resulted in a one-of-a-kind helmet that mimics the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the virus causing COVID-19. Gowtham, the designer of the helmet shared that people hadn’t realized how dangerous COVID-19 was. Meanwhile, the police officers had to work constantly to make sure that people were staying inside, preventing the spread of the virus.

Gowtham added that he used a broken helmet and a few pieces of paper. He also prepared different slogans and gave them to the police. It took him five hours to complete the helmet. His idea was to make the helmet look as scary as possible to show how dangerous the virus is.

After using the helmet, many police officers who are working 24/7 say that the hat is really useful.

The helmet is used to raise the awareness of the citizens.

Officer Rajesh Bahu is the one wearing the helmet. In an interview, he shared that no matter what they did, there were always some people coming outside of their houses. So this helmet had become the next step that the police wanted to take to raise the awareness of the citizens.

Rajesh Bahu said that once he put on the helmet, people become scared of the virus, especially kids. After they saw the helmet, they wanted to return home immediately.
