Indian Has Only 100,000 Web Professionals Working In The $750 Million Industry

India is home to the world’s second-largest internet userbase, just after China. And this has led to a significant increase in the number of programmers and developers in the country.

And according to a report released recently, if India keeps this pace, the country can join an industry that will reach a value of between $650 million and $750 million in the next three years.

The report came from Zinnov Consulting and Endurance International Group, which shed light on the fact that India is now a Do-It-For-Me market. That means in the Indian market, small, micro brands are using the help from web professionals to help them grow. Along with their growth and development, these firms’ digital presence will also increase, meaning more job opportunities in this industry.

Besides, it’s also revealed in the report that the country generates the second most mobile app downloads on the planet with more than 12 billion downloads. This makes another reason for the country to potentially be a gold mine of opportunities.

However, the challenges we’re currently facing is that, as pointed out by the report, there are only 100,000 professionals working in this industry. That number includes those with SEO skills, app developers, web developers, those working in digital marketing, and more.

We need this number to be much larger so that businesses and this industry in the country can grow and benefit from the internet the most.

In addition, the report found that WordPress is the most widely used CMS-based platform for web development in India. The reason for this is that WordPress is flexible, supports a lot of plugins to help webpages have a more attractive, intuitive look.

As predicted by US financial institution Goldman Sachs, by 2025, the internet industry in India will achieve a value of $160 billion, almost tripling the value now.
