According to a new study, the lockdown order in India will only be lifted in the two first weeks of September.
The company behind this study is Boston Consulting Group and it explains that the longer duration of the restriction is the result of healthcare system preparedness and the effect of public policies.

The reason BCG venture into this field of scenario planning is to help its clients with their various business issues. It said that these predictions were the results of the analysis of externally and internally gathered data.
Since the CO.VID-19 pandemic is unlike anything we have ever seen before, along with a high level of uncertainty, BCG does not predict the effectiveness of the public policy, the peak of infections, of the preparedness of the healthcare system in each country.
The Indian government announced a total lockdown on March 24, making India the next in line after Colombia, UK, and Poland to impose a restriction on business and movement.
The report from BCG is about CO.VID-19 epidemic projection. What the firm used is predictive modeling with data from John Hopkins University. Its projection is the estimate as of March 25.
From the report, we can make out the vital dates of CO.VID-19 outbreak breaking down by the following parameters:
- The current status of countries. Are they under complete lockdown or not?
- The start dates of potential restriction.
- The estimated peak dates of each country.
- The end dates of the lockdown.
The chart of BCG suggests that India’s limitation on movement and business happens in line with the timing of China on the restriction.
