Even though the nationwide lockdown has been extended to May 3, April 17 seemed to be a quite spectacular day for Delhites. When most of us were stuck inside our house working or killing times, those who were lucky enough to be outside got the chance to witness not one but two full arch rainbows in the clear sky.
Before the rainbows appear, Delhi saw light showers. After the showers stopped, the sun came out. And that was when the two rainbows graced the sky.
It is believed that it was the lack of pollution thanks to the lockdown that made the rainbow visible on the sky.
Even though it is not rare for rainbows to appear after the rain, it isn’t a regular event in the polluted Delhi.
People were so excited about this that they came to social media platforms to show their gratefulness and awe for witnessing such a beautiful phenomenon. After all, not every day that Delhites can see a bright rainbow on the sky.
While one rainbow was what people could see, on the Rohini side, people got to witness a double rainbow.
It was during lockdown that many unprecedented events happened. Recently, in Navi Mumbai, the Seawoods complex residents have a little surprise when flamingos appeared in the area. And for the first time ever, no Indian city has made it to the list of the world’s 20 polluted cities. It is the shutdown of factories across the country during the nationwide lockdown that has led to this dramatic overturn.
