It has been nearly ten months since COVID-19 invaded our world. What started from a small wet market in Wuhan, China has now spread around the world, with millions of people affected. While China has managed to contain the virus, the situation in other countries is just getting worse.
India has had over 6.15 million cases until now. And there is no sign suggesting it would stop or even slow down. Now, scientists working at the ICMR warns that another virus from China has entered India and it can spread around the nation.
Scientists reportedly found antibodies of the “Cat Que virus” in two of the 883 samples tested in different states. This means the virus has infected people at some point in time.
At the time of the study, scientists have not found the virus in any other animal or human samples. The two positive samples were from Karnataka in 2014 and 2017.
In a statement, ICMR says that it is important to screen more samples as a proactive measure.
