According to a report from Hankyung, Hyundai is in early discussions with Apple about the production of its new car, the Apple Car.

According to a report from Hankyung, Hyundai confirms that it is in early discussions with Apple about the production of its new car, the Apple Car.

This Korean website added that the rumor about Apple discussing with Hyundai Motor had appeared for a long time and that Hyundai would assist Apple in making the car and develop batteries for it.

Part of the development of Apple Car components will take place at one of Hyundai Motors’ facilities in the US. The report also mentions what Bloomberg has stated recently, that the Apple Car will take five to seven years to get to the market. The manufacturer claims that the car will be introduced in 2027.

Surprisingly, Hyundai itself confirmed these rumors. A spokesperson of the company told CNBC that Apple was indeed in discussions with many global automakers, including Hyundai Motor.

This is not the first time there have been rumors suggesting that Apple will have to rely on partners to produce its own electric cars as the Cupertino giant doesn’t have the facilities ready for car manufacturing.

Last year, Reuters reported that the Apple Car production would begin in 2024 with groundbreaking battery technology offering longer range and lower costs.

It is not clear when Apple will officially announce the Apple Car. But it looks like the company is still trying to work on a consistent plan to introduce it as soon as possible.

After the information was revealed, Hyundai Motor’s share price saw an increase of 17.5%.
