Residents Of Gurugram Sang Gayatri Maha Mantra From Their Balconies To Lift The Spirit Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

Many praised residents of Gurgaon for taking the preventative measures against COVID-19 by not gathering in a large mass

Only days after the video of Italians singing from their balcony to lift the spirit amid the destruction of COVID-19 went viral on the Internet, residents of a Gurgaon’s housing complex appear to have been inspired to do the same.

As of Wednesday, when India saw its number of confirmed cases crossed 140, Indians seemed to have accept the fact that they will have to spend a lot of time sating indoors to protect themselves as well as others.

In a recent video, residents living in the housing complex, especially women, were seen singing the “Gayatri Maha Mantra” from their balconies and windows. Their singing was accompanied by prayer bells and the whole recording is beautiful.

The performance in Gurgaon won the hearts and minds of many people on the Internet. However, some still show a negative attitude citing the fact that Gurgaon was not under quarantine like Italy, so the singing was just a publicity stunt.

The video of the performance was posted on Twitter by a journalist and it takes only a few hours for it to go viral. Many praised residents of Gurgaon for taking the preventative measures of not gathering in a large mass but instead, sang from their windows and balconies. At this trying time, self-quarantine is probably the best practice to survive COVID-19 pandemic.

When the Coronavirus outbreak has taken the lives of more than 8,000 people all over the world, preventative measures like washing your hands regularly and self-containment are advised to prevent the virus from spreading even further.
