Google Photos has recently got a navigation drawer themed Material Design and is receiving a fresh backup status icon. It becomes easier to see whether the videos and images are already backed up from the photo gallery. Notably, this new feature has already been added in the Google Photos iOS app for a while and now is coming to Android. One of the highlights of this new version is that it now comes with support for foldable phones.

The application is said to feature multi-resume and screen continuity.
That the search-engine giant added support for the foldable displays for the Google Photos application can be considered as an indicator that the Samsung Galaxy Fold smartphone's launch will not be too far away. Last week, Samsung took the heat since some reviewers reported that their units stopped working because of unclear instructions on the retail box and faulty displays. Samsung has already postponed the launch events of Samsung Galaxy Fold in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Additionally, in terms of the new backup icon of Google Photos, users of Android OS will see an icon of slashed cloud on the video or image’s bottom right corner if they haven’t been backed up. It means users are able to “proactively chose” what videos and images they want to back up.
At the moment, Android users must expand indicator from the device’s top to see the backup status as well as the small thumbnails of the photos that are being backed up.
