Google To Pay Up To $500 To The Owners of Faulty Pixel And Pixel XL Smartphones

While Google has paid $7.25 million to settle the recent lawsuit, this tech company will have to pay $500 to the customers who bought faulty Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones produced before 04 Jan 2017.

Pursuant to the proposed settlement, all of the above-mentioned owners are classified into 04 groups, and so, Google will be able to analyze and evaluate the compensation level they will receive.
According to the report from The Verge on May 14,

March 2017 was the first moment Google confirmed that some of its smartphones had an issue. At that time, the tech giant revealed that smaller than 1% of Pixel smartphones got a light crack in the solder connection on the audio codec. More particularly, these faulty smartphones caused some issues concerning calls as well as the voice assistant.

Last year, Google came under fire by a lot of customers who felt so angry when the tech giant still sold the faulty smartphones to them. As a result, they filed a lawsuit against the company.
The final hearing is expected to occur on June 05 2019 and Google will get the final judgment relating to the Pixel phone case.
At the beginning of April 2019, the company reportedly settled a lawsuit concerning the Nexus 6P smartphones which had a bootloop issue. Accordingly, both Huawei and Google agreed to pay $9.75 million to settle the lawsuit. The last decision of the lawsuit will be given after a hearing takes place on October 10.
