Google search-engine giant has launched a new update to Google Maps, which allows users to find an available EV charging station. This new Google Maps version for the web, iOS, and Android show real-time info on charging stations in the UK and US, which offers EV users a lot of data about charging stations to top up without having to find themselves. This new update helps users find charging ports from SemaConnect, EVgo, and Chargemaster. The network of Chargepoint will be covered soon in the future. However, the new feature does not help users to look for a Tesla Supercharger, actually you don’t need that given the application of Tesla.
In addition, Google has also enhanced this feature’s functionality by offering information about the kind of charging stations and the speeds of charging in order to make it more useful. Therefore, you will not risk coming to a station wasting your time. All user have to do is type in "EV charging stations" and the search engine will offer the information. If you are not using Android Auto, you will need to stop before seeking for an open charging station.
If you cannot see the available EV charging ports on Google Maps, you should open the Play Store or App Store and manually update this application. After the update, you will see the real-time information about the charging stations. This new update plays a quite important role in assisting users to find a place to charge their EVs more easily, which saves a lot of their time.
As mentioned above, the update has been just available in the UK and US. And so far, Google hasn’t revealed any further information about whether the company will launch this useful feature in other markets or not.
