Google Duo, Snapchat And WhatsApp Celebrate Holi With Video Effects And Colorful Stickers

As India is celebrating Holi festival, tech firms decide to join in the holiday spirit as Google Duo, Snapchat, and WhatsApp release colorful effects and stickers.

Tech firms are celebrating Holi, which is a colorful spring festival of India, by offering Holi-themed video effects and stickers.
For Google, in Holi spirit, the company has brought special effects to Duo, its video calling app.
If you’re residing in India, you will be able to add to your recorded video messages different effects like flowing borders, a Happy Holi message, colorful sunglasses, and face powders.
Google Duo’s tech lead and creator, Justin Uberti, said on Twitter that the feature is exclusively for Indian users.
However, the Holi filters can only be added when a video message is being recorded not when you use the live chat feature.
You can still save your message and then share it with your Duo contacts.
The Holi festival of India began on Wednesday and may last up to 1 week, depending on each region.
With Snapchat, users can create their own unique wished with new creative tools.
For Holi holiday, Snapchat released a series of creative tools which include Bitmojis, lenses, stickers and new filters. You can add a dash of color to videos and photos and send them to your family and friends.
You don’t even need to install the stickers and filters separately.
Moreover, the Brut India will select the best Holi celebrations snapped on the app around the country including Delhi, Mumbai, Shantiniketan, Jaipur, Vrindavan, and Mathura.
People outside of India who celebrate Holi won’t be left out since Brut India will also consider snaps globally.
WhatsApp also joins in the fun by letting users create customized stickers with your pictures to send to the chat.
You can also customize images to send out Holi wishes to your friends and family.
However, different from Snapchat, you will need to down a separate app called “Sticker maker for WhatsApp.”
