Former Star YouTuber Gets 10 Years In Prison For Child Pornography

A former YouTuber with a large number of teenager fans has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for encouraging young girls to send him pornographic images and videos.

Austin Jones, the one-time star on YouTube, now needs to face the consequences for abusing fans. In February, Jones was accused of receiving and consuming child pornography. After the judge had reviewed all the evidence, the acapella cover producer received a sentence of 10 years in prison. Jones admitted having encouraged six girls to send their porn videos to him in order to prove themselves as his biggest fans. Among the victims, one was only 14 years old.

The 26-year-old YouTuber was also found to have used Facebook to ask other underage girls to send pornographic images and videos, which he told them were for "modeling opportunity."

In 2015, many young women made a complaint against Jones, stating how they were asked to make videos for him. In addition to making suggestions on underwear and poses for the girls, the singer often gave them “lines” in their videos. In 2017, Jones was officially arrested.

Jones has many videos reaching millions of views on YouTube.

Jone's YouTube music channel, which has more than 534,000 subscribers, is where he often posts his acapella cover of Fall Out Boy, Rihanna, and Justin Bieber. Some of Jones’s videos receive millions of views. Also, the former YouTuber also took part in several tours.

According to his lawyer, Jones has suffered from abuse, death, and pain all his life. He is said to have been sexually abused when he was a child.

Taking advantage of fans is not something strange on the internet. Jones’s behavior is a reminder to internet users about one of the biggest online threats.

Technology is an effective tool to help idols and fans interact with each other. But it can also be easily exploited to help unscrupulous people take advantage of their fans. The 10-year jail sentence that Austin Jones received should be seen as a warning to those who intend to carry out this same behavior.
