Fifth Indian International Science Festival (IISF) To Be Held At Kolkata This November

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, union minister for science and technology, declared that the India International Science Festival is going to be organized at Kolkata this year. The dates finalized by the minister are November 5 - 8, and this is the fifth edition of IISF. 

The event would be organized at various venues in Kolkata including Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Science City, Bose Institute, Satyajit Ray Film, Television Institute, and Indian Institute of Chemical Biology.  

IISF Theme - Research, Innovation, And Science Empowering The Nation  

This year, the theme chosen is ‘Research, Innovation and Science Empowering the Nation.’ It is understandable that they are focussing more on research and how they can benefit the nation.

After the US and China, India has also significantly achieved in the field of science and technology as we can take the example of Chandrayaan-2. The festival is organized to celebrate the success of the nation in science and technology along with the involvement of students, innovators, technocrats, craftsmen and also farmers.

IISF Will Host 28 Divergent Events

To make the festival enjoyable, there will 28 different events housing the major aspects of science and technology. In one of the events, IISF will set up the student's science village where approximately 2500 students across the country will come and will be instructed to form a team along with a teacher in each team.

These students would participate in activities and will also get many opportunities to interact with scientists, and other delegates present there. Following this, there will be an event where approximately 1500 research scholars will get a golden chance to meet different scientists and researchers in their field. They will also be able to interact with them regarding their subject matter. 

All in all, this massive event is intended to elevate entrepreneurship and explore the world with upcoming opportunities.
