This Face Recognition AI Can Help You Check Whether Your Partner Have Done Porn Or Not

Yiqin Fu, a Ph.D. candidate in political science at Standford University, was the one to discover and retweet the post on Weibo, which was translated and checked by Motherboard. According to the first poster who said he came from Germany, his facial recognition AI has "successfully identified more than 100,000 young ladies" in the global adult industry.

However, the man hasn’t provided any specific evidence to prove what he said, such as training database, code or something like this. When Motherboard contacted with him via Weibo, he revealed he was planning to introduce “technical details” and “database schema” in the next few days.

Along with the spread of Fu’s post in the US and the secret programmer in China on the Internet, both academics and activists are asking a series of questions concerning the impact this AI can bring to humans. On Weibo, the Germany-based man said both dating and married couples “on both sides” have the rights to know whether their partner has done porn or not. After he had got a lot of criticism, he changed his mind and said he intended to help women check whether their intimate videos have been available on porn websites or not. And as such, they can give takedown requests.

It seems that the man has some troubles or prejudice with women. That’s also what a lot of Weibo users are thinking of. Even some ask when he will develop a program that can detect amateur actors in porn.

However, the existence of such an AI is really a provocative question. It reminds us of deepfake AI that allows users to edit the women’s faces onto adult players while the victims don’t have any idea. This technology doesn’t just breach privacy unethically but it also is a tool for misogynists to control women as well as their bodies.

Adult actresses have no choice but to report bad guys to their payment portals and request a ban on them on social media. In addition, many misogynists and overexcited fans are always conspiring to follow all addresses, friends and phone numbers of these actresses.

And with the new AI developed by the Germany-based Chinese programmer, women will clearly have to face much more risks than ever before. How terrible this technology is!

Only with the correct search tags, spiteful actors will be able to find out videos relating to their victims and make use of the AI to stalk, extort or blackmail these women.
