After Japanese amusement parks such as Universal Studios Japan and Tokyo Disneyland asked their visitors to wear face masks and not to scream when riding the roller coasters to avoid COVID-19 transmission, people have thought this task would be nearly impossible.
In a four-minute video, you will see two executives of the Fuji-Q Highland amusement park, Koichiro Horiuchi and Daisuke Iwata, dressing properly and wearing masks as they’re riding the Fujiyama coaster at the park. This roller can reach a speed of 128 kilometers per hour. They manage to keep their calmness while their bodies shake back and forth.
But with safety remains the number one priority, people still have to follow the new rule. While other amusement parks encourage visitors to scream inside their hearts, this amusement park comes up with a creative way.
On 17 July, Greenland Amusement Park from the Kumamoto Prefecture released screaming stickers that guests can stick to their face masks.
In a YouTube video, a woman in the amusement park’s uniform is taking the facemask and the stickers out for a ride. In fact, the sticker makes her look like she is actually screaming while she isn’t.
And here is another video with a male staff member.
In total, there are five different stickers that visitors can select from. Visitors can get these stickers at the entrance of the park until the end of August.
At the time of this writing, Japan has over 40,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases with more than 1,000 deaths. Despite the rapid increase in the number of cases, places like restaurants, bars, and theme parks have already reopened.
