Face Masks Allowing You To Drink Anything, Even Alcohol, Sold Out After 30 Minutes

As COVID-19 creates a new normal of wearing face masks when going out, people soon realize there are certain activities that cannot be done when their faces are covered by a piece of cloth, like drinking and eating.

Persistent with her habit of sipping cocktail, Ellen Macomber, an artist, has created a special face mask with a slot to put straw through.

As a city known for its night life, there is no better place than New Orleans where a mask that can help its users drink can originate. This is perhaps something Indians can relate.

She was inspired by the idea of a friend and since the design was finalized, Macomber and her assistant has made 40 face masks, each takes around an hour to complete.

The masks are from cotton and decorated with a wide variety of embellished fabrics. Each piece will set buyers $30. The idea catches on so well that the whole first batch sold out in just half an hour.

The artist thinks her face masks will be of tremendous help for those who like spending time in public places and have a love for drinking.

Ellen Macomber is not a health expert so there is no guarantee that her design can protect users from COVID-19 as there is a hole on it and fluid droplets in the air can still get through if people stand too close to a person carrying the virus.

However, she argues that it is the best of both worlds for those who like to go out and drink all while stay relatively safe from the virus.
