Setting up electric vehicle charging stations has been one of the top concerns of the native automakers. That’s why the Government decides to allow the individuals to establish an electric vehicle charging station while they don’t need to obtain any license. The information was revealed by a senior government official.

The governmental proposal has shown that each individual, from automakers to consumers, will have the same opportunity to approach and experience the benefits brought by electric vehicles. Of course, there will be obligatory specifications and set standards that these charging stations must meet. Additionally, their charges will be under a certain limit.

The State electricity regulatory commissions (also known as SERCs) will take charge of setting the tariffs and charges for the electricity supply. The limited amount is equal to 15% of the average cost of the electricity supply. Besides that, the state governments will also give the limitations for the charges that end consumers have to pay.

At the beginning of 2018, the government stated that no special license under the Electricity Act of 2003 regarding building an electric vehicle charging station was required to open up a charging station.

This move is proof that the government has made an effort to spur the wide application of electric vehicles. According to a recently proposed bill, it would be mandatory for buildings and parking lots to have their own electric charging stations.

Also, the transport ministry has lately put an end to commercial permit requirement for electric vehicles. Via a series of these moves, the government hopes automakers and consumers to experience the best ecosystem when it comes to electric vehicles.
