Don't Miss These Five Updated Features On WhatsApp

Facebook has added some new features in its WhatsApp app for Android users. Update the app from the Google Play Store and enjoy these features.

Facebook-owned app WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app in the world with a 1.5 billion user base. Facebook continuously works on it's Android and iOS apps, for making it a better and rumor-free app, along with its business app. In the recent update, Facebook added some new features in its WhatsApp app for Android users. Go and update the app from Google Play Store and freely enjoy these features. If you don't know, let's have a look towards these five new features.

1. Consecutive voice messages

In the latest update, WhatsApp offers a new feature for consecutive voice messages. As the name suggests, now users don't need to play each voice message separately, if they are continuous in the chat. WhatsApp automatically plays voice message one by one in the conversations.

2. Forwarding info

Last year WhatsApp added a forward label on forwarded messages for preventing fake news and messages. In line with this, WhatsApp continues trying to improve the app and has released a new update. Now, the platform added forwarding information with this feature, where users can easily get to know that how many times a particular message is forwarded by tapping on the 'info' button. The data is only available for forwarded messages.

3. Profile picture download disabled

For the security purpose, WhatsApp removed the option for downloading profile picture from the app. From the latest beta version, users can't download profile pictures of others on the app. This option is also removed from the iOS beta app.

4. Algorithm-based Status tab

Facebook announced in F8 2019 that it is planning to introduce algorithm based status updates on Whatsapp. Currently, all the statuses in the status tab are showing in chronological order. But after the new update, Status updates from the users which are most frequently contacted will show up on the top. Facebook has already used the same algorithm in its Instagram and Facebook app for status updates.

Last but not least, Facebook introduced new privacy feature on WhatsApp, which help users avoid being added to groups. According to the latest update, users can change their group setting by going into the privacy menu. There are three options available for a group setting, namely 'Everyone', 'Nobody' and 'My contacts only'. For those who choose ‘Nobody’, a request to join the group will be sent.
